April Harper Grey (aka underscores) is a San Fransisco-born, New York City-based producer & musician who just dropped one of the most exciting and original records of the year, Wallsocket. In 2021, she released her acclaimed debut LP Fishmonger, collaborated with Blink 182’s Travis Barker, and opened for 100 Gecs on tour. On Wallsocket April expands upon the genre playfulness of Fishmonger by leaning into a post hyper-pop sound that blurs the lines of electro-pop, noise rock, dubstep, and more, to create something wholly unique. The record follows three teenage girls living in a fictional town in Michigan and it’s functionally an ARG with how rich it’s lore is.
