Ravyn Lenae is a Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter. You might know her from the track “Love Me Not”– a song with a sick timeless quality that recently earned her a first-ever entry on the Billboard Hot 100. Her debut album, HYPNOS, put her on the map, featuring artists like consistent collaborator Steve Lacy and Fousheé. MINDLESS/TRASH TV

Whenever I’m going thru an anxious spell or working on an album/preparing for a show.. I usually have 0 brain power left by the time I get home after a long day. My favorite escape is frying my brain with really bad *but amazing* reality tv. 90 day fiancé is my go-to but so many others get the job done.. married at first sight, the ultimatum, etc.

I loooooooveeeee her!!!!!!! Lauren is an artist from south central LA who bridges sculpture, collage and architecture memorializing black culture and the people in her life. I met Lauren a few years ago thru my bf and have been a fan ever since. I went to her exhibition at The Met and was FLOORED. I was able to see the process leading up to that point and really was in awe of her use of imagination and the amount of work it takes to pull off such an expansive piece. I’m so inspired by her!!! LOVE U LAUREN XOXOXO

MOVIE NIGHTS WITH MY GIRLS

My girls nights literally REVIVE me. Now I completely understand why my mom needed those nights to just kick it with her homegirls- it really does reinvigorate you and just feels like a big warm hug. Our favorite thing to do is say we’re having a movie night, turn on the movie, spark up, then talk thru the whole movie LOL. Idk I love my girls and the warmth they bring to my life. I always leave feeling like I got good perspective on something that might’ve been bugging me or I was able to help a friend navigate something that’s been troubling them. The show Girlfriends is for reallllllll <333

BATHROOM MIRROR STICKY NOTES

While working on my most recent album Bird’s Eye, I decided that I wanted to really speak the things I desire out of my life and career. From that day I began writing down every single thing I thought of and put it on my bathroom mirror. I kid u not as soon as I started doing this, things just started happening for me in a way I can’t really explain. I think in the past I’ve been scared of really GOING FOR IT or maybe subconsciously felt like I wasn’t deserving of certain things. I really had to step out of that mindset and talk BIGGER to/about myself. Now every morning I brush my teeth I read all my stickies to myself, close my eyes and really BELIEVE IT ☆₊⊹✮
