It makes the whole act of watching TV more fun. Sometimes I’ll even double screen and put something scenic on the projector on my ceiling while watching a show on the TV. Constant entertainment and stimulation from all angles.

Projector>conventional TV. Roku plugged in on projector was a huge advancement. I get a plain white wall during the day and a massive screen by night! Also you fully cannot watch TV unless it’s a rainy day or night because the lighting won’t work

Currently have two projectors, both from secondhand stores. One is new-ish, one vintage—both were under $20. Our go-to of the pair for movie night is the old office projector, probably a decade old but it’s so good. 2000 lumens—for comparison, a movie theatre projects with 50K lumens—and we plug a firestick in to make it “smart” (an old firestick, my tech-savvy partner says a newer one might not work). The more recent projector (VivImage, not sure what model but they go for about $100 new) doesn’t have the same oomph but for watching the game or an occasional movie it works just fine. All of which is to say you can probably find something way cheaper than $500 to get a sense of what works for your space and adjust accordingly, particularly if you check out used options.
I personally love it. For gatherings and low-tech nights it’s nice not to have a big screen taking over the room, and for watching movies it’s awesome to have a screen the size of our wall. You do need to figure out where the projector will sit and arrange around it, and a pro or con (depending on how you look at it) would be that you really will only be able to watch things in pitch darkness.

I never believed in television but I just got a 75” wall mounted TV with the YouTube app. Youtube changed my life. My favourite YouTube channels - antscanada, swampstoriezI love playing Fortnite on a big screen. Dancing on your bambiks when you kill them is the best. It’s the Richard Mille of the living room. Makes you feel like Tony Montana. I just ordered another TV for my bedroom so I can Watch the Pusher trilogy while I bed rot covered in Monster Munch dust.

You never know how important this is until you can’t get it. Our tour bus driver says it’s banned in Australia. I guess there’s something in throat coat tea that’s legal in USA but not in Australia. But the Aussie singers consistently ask for it (so he says). I’m on tour right now and for whatever reason it was left off the rider for a couple shows in a row. Then the next day in Detroit we were staying at MGM resorts and casino and everyone was walking around with a TEA KETTLE prize that they all received for being special MGM resort members. THE UNIVERSE WAS TAUNTING ME!!! All I could see were people walking around with brand new tea kettles. What a turn of events. Anyways, get throat coat tea and keep the voice smooth.

Sometimes I go on FaceTime rampages and call all my friends until someone picks up. The issue is when they don’t… So now if they don’t pick up I immediately send a video of me talking about what I was gonna say. It’s like a little performance to an audience of one. It scratches the same itch AND it’s efficient.

4th times the charm…? I hope so. A very intelligent friend of mine told me that pretty girls always fail their test. I think it’s in the constitution somewhere. I’ll get them next time though. It’s good character building I guess… and a lesson in resilience…
