Sue me, I love David Lynch. He loves dreams. He said, “The nervous system functions in a fourth, unique way, as different as dreaming is from sleeping as sleeping is from waking. When you transcend, it's the only experience that lights the full brain on an EEG machine. It's the only experience that utilizes the full brain.” Anytime I have a dream that stays with me when I wake up, I grab my phone and write it down in my notes. Here’s a snippet from a recent one, “I had to put on a gown in the tiniest bathroom. A famous actress grabs my hand and we run to a huge empty room with carpet everywhere. Rolling around on the floor laughing and then she’s crying to me telling me really sad things that are going on in her life. I really wanted to take a picture of the tears on her face but felt like i couldn’t.

you have to catch a dream before you lose it to get started, but once you get into the habit of writing down your dreams and bodily awareness when you’re awake (pinching yourself to see if it’s real, for example - in a dream your fingers will pass right through the skin) you may gain better memory upon waking. lots of people say to write them in a physical journal, but i just have a notes app page going with several years worth of dreams. here are some silly ones from recently

first thing i do when i wake up is remember what i dreamed last night and write it down in the notes app, i try to give as much detail as possible. the when a few days/weeks/months have past i read what ive written down and just start lmao-ing bc it is genuinely the craziest sht. its really fun

It’s slow going at first but then it’s like channeling a cryptic, psychic version of yourself daily. Write down whatever nonsense you recall when you first open your eyes or it kinda leaks away. Listen to the beginners guide to dream interpretation by Clarissa pinkola Estes for a primer. Why not??!

I visited Egypt last year in March for the first time with my good friend, Rafik, who grew up in Cairo. A group of 5 of us traveled to the small oasis town of Siwa, which was an 8 hour escapade through the desert in a van, down one road where we got stopped at 6 military checkpoints. They look at your passport and inside your bags, and let you keep going. Siwa is the most magical place I’ve ever been to – the story of Aladdin was supposedly written there, the landscape is straight out of National Geographic, and the people are the sweetest, most chaste souls. We spent 4 days there - I didn’t use the internet once, everyday we went on an adventure somewhere in nature, I woke up every morning at 6am and I ate the best food from a garden.

There’s so many bubble tea spots in Chinatown but this one is by far, the best. Get the passion fruit tea iced, with mango bubbles, twenty percent sugar. Bring cash.

This is one of my favorite films in terms of aesthetics. One of the final scenes is the epitome of what I want my future work to emulate. It’s really hard to articulate what it is about this film that I love, but here are some key words: bathhouse, bright and seedy colors, beautiful woman, adolescence, a stunning scene with the Can soundtrack “Mother Sky,” angst, water, sex.
