A friend of mine reminded me of how intrusive and satanic the constant ads on YouTube are these days, and, yeah, he was right. Eliminating the need to watch double ads has made being on the app more enjoyable almost INSTANTLY--especially since I'm on the site all damn day. I guess it comes with YouTube music and stuff as well, but it's really the ad-less experience that makes it worth it.

Thatā€™s right, Iā€™m dumping more money into Googleā€™s deep pockets, but at least less than I could be ā€” I got YouTube premium back when it was more affordable and branded YouTube ā€œRedā€, so Iā€™m grandfathered in at the old rate (I would probably be willing to cough up the 15/month if I wasnā€™t thoughā€¦). Thereā€™s pure joy to be had in the freedom to leave the YouTube app while still listening to a video, or download a video to my phone to watch later, all without ads. Aside from music streaming, this is probably my most used monthly ā€œserviceā€.

I am on my brotherā€™s premium subscription and every month he sends me a text that reads ā€œYouTube taxā€ As much as I donā€™t want to spare him the $6, it is so worth it to have no ads. Very delightful, highly recommend.

Going Premium was one of the best online decisions Iā€™ve ever made (besides bringing the greatness of P.I. into my life). No ads, thank you very much.

It's a podcast where people call in to a live twitch stream and ask advice from a man in a gecko costume. What more could you want? But, really, the guy who hosts this thing, Lyle, has quickly become my favorite podcast host ever. His dry sense of humor and profound outlook on life makes him an amazing guide through all of the chaotic and wonderfully strange calls that come his way in every episode.

Get some adjustable dumbbells for your house. Bent rows, shoulder raises, curls squats, overhead presses. Do it for the dopamine. Go.

For some reason I can't stop watching this quaint, gentle, contemplative, and cerebral TV show. I rarely watch TV--especially these days. But for some reason I just find the relaxing tone and EXTREMELY subtle humor of Joe Pera's show here to be something really special. It's about the closest a "comedy" show can come to creating the sensation of ambient music. I just like to put this on and vibe.
