I find if I’m on too many platforms too often everything starts to become noise and nothing but.
Currently I‘ve been sticking to my small private twitter account to keep in touch and occasionally PI when I need to spew and share or absorb some takes. Pinterest too but that’s less social for me.

Honestly deleting social media (especially instagram) has widen my capacity for new Real world things in so many ways. Being more creative, having more original ideas, honestly just more time To think!!! I think the first month was an adjustment because it was like a dopamine cleanse, lots of overthinking and feelings of intense boredom
A lot of the things projected onto me I realized were not even insecurities of my own but harbored in my brain because of tiktok/instagram
I did worry about having FOMO and not seeing what my friends were up to but I can also just text them and ask ??? I feel like instagram especially is a very PASSIVE and superficial way of connecting with people. I definitely feel like my social circle decreased exponentially without it but for the better 🧍♀️

hello :) it’s been a while since i’ve used this app. i decided to log back in b/c i just deactivated my social media accounts. with the tik-tok ban coming up, i made the decision to not only delete tik-tok but also twitter. fuck zuck and elon. it’s disappointing to leave behind the pockets on the internet that i considered my community.
i didn’t deactivate my insta b/c i have a ton of memories from there. i’ve been posting on insta since the 8th grade haha. so there’s a ton of sentimental stuff on there. the app is deleted from my phone and i privated it. it’ll now be like a museum/archive since i won’t use it.
i’m not anti social media myself, i love the community aspect of social media and sharing my interests with like minded individuals. hence why i returned to this app. i’ll prob post a lot more on here (or not) i’ll see. but i’m honestly getting sick of tech bros ruining things for everyone else :/
