a close call - perhaps you find yourself on the sidewalk of a big city, people crowding in on both sides - you’re about to be smushed like a sandwich but in the final moment mind and body harmonize, snapping out of their hum drum daze, kicking into high gear you speed out of the bind in the nick of time
the feeling of almost being bound but sweet freedom emanates just on the other side of that door.. and it is a door you just opened

Got some news yesterday about someone I love
Suddenly a lot of things mattered less
Some wishy washy desires became goals
For a little while I had X-ray vision
The world sped up and slowed down at the same time
— I didn’t like the news but I’m glad I know it, because it was already a thing, so better to know
All at once without warning I’m living on a different planet: it is barren, hostile, rocky, and dry
But I know there are treasures here. I’m going to find them.

downloading the beta app has made me use the platform 100% more of the time - i hope the founders will keep the beautiful moments of crashes embedded into it, dusting the user experience with a moment to catch their breath - masked as a crash - it harkens back to a simpler time when things were slower and everything wasn’t so polished
