Hope this doesnt sound patronizing. I work with a lot of older ppl. Theyre cool as hell and know how to have a good time and a laugh. That whole age is just a number thing is true.

They have wisdom and dark humor and facts of life to bestow upon us and I think for the most part they deserve a more triumphant-sounding title in society that reflects that. I met a 70 year old woman today who wants to get a shoulder tattoo of Van Gogh’s sunflowers. She said, “well, my husband died in May so he’s not around to tell me not to!” and proceeded to laugh heartily and mischievously. She is, I am sure, still hurting and grieving inside, but it also seems that she is proudly living for herself and doing what she wants to do, and I could sense a certain liberation in her voice that I think I’m still too young to understand the full breadth of. To reach that age and make peace with loss and to continue to choose to live a fulfilling life for yourself feels very powerful to me. I think seeking more for yourself in general is a way to age gracefully. It is about the spirit! The way that you wear your soul!

This rec inspired by an extended family gathering ages 10-75. Yes most slang will age poorly but they other generations have dumb as shit words too. My wife’s grandpa once called something “boffo” instead of great. So if you wanna be a based youthpilled vibemaxxing wordcel (you actually probably shouldn't) go ahead and don’t let boomers and gen x bully you for it.

Obviously play with your cat. But if you play with your cat ten minutes before meals you simulate the natural hunting instinct. Curbs misdirected aggression and also I think makes them enjoy their food more. Just my two cents.. that Jackson Galaxy agrees with.

Me and my girlfriend have been getting into tennis its so fun. Your body moves in a really great way when you play and makes you feel glad. I still suck but am starting to be able to get a volley going from the backline. It is a good feeling to hit that ball right and run around. Almost as good as soccer.
