i need more media surrounding women that play chess. or just women obsessed with mastering a craft of their choice. i think about beth harmon everyday.

I think probably the most brilliant game. To me playing chess is sort of a return to my childhood. I randomly had the thought about 6 months ago like “why don’t i just start to play chess again?” and I am happy I did. also didn’t realize how many dear friends of mines were also chess fanatics until I started playing more… I think when you just really dive into little things you enjoy you get rewarded for it. Chess is awesome and it works your brain.
Just came here to tell everyone I’m playing chess for the millionth time. I play literally everyday now online. I haven’t played a videogame in weeks. I’m challenging everyone I know irl too. I discovered my neighbour plays and I’m going to play a game with her soon. Chess has taken over my life and I’m loving it. Just discovered there’s a chess night as a local cafe too.
in a tik tok a while ago i said "pets as accessories is in" and people thought i was being literal and obliterated me in the comments but this is literally all i meant like there's no harm in an obviously fake bunny bag. i can understand where they got confused tho. i should have said "animals as accessories." tbh they prob would've reacted the same either way. girls with a vision can never win </3
Recently watched this film on MUBI about Nam June Paik (Marina is featured in it) that describes his life & art overall. His approach and ethos really struck me def recommend.
