Listening to really fast jazz and instrumental rock jams somehow matches the speed my brains going and everything clicks - it gives me an extra kick of dopamine to help me get through whatever task I’m doing and and entertains/distracts me from getting distracted by everythjng else going on outside my brain and lets me just focus on the task at hand. I get less sidetracked bc I’m already entertained by the music and therefore am not looking for other external sources of dopamine while doing something I don’t like doing like homework. I love phish and yussef dayes for this. and adderall
don’t listen to the album while doing chores, or on a walk, or while you work. lay down, close your eyes, and simply absorb it completely. most albums make much more sense when you absorb them this way
“Using the social media app feels like a slower, less chaotic, and more intimate version of twitter. You’re prompted to answer questions like ‘what did you read last week?’ and a small group of friends chime in. There’s no algorithms or popularity contests.”
