Can I ask you a question? Are you going to the big gig tonight? Some of your favorite bands are playing. Some of your friends bands are playing. I heard there's gonna be an open bar at the big gig. I heard there's gonna be someone going around taking peoples portraits at the big gig. I heard that the big gig catered. Like 100% catered. Like it's a wedding. So if you're going to the big gig, maybe don't eat dinner before hand. I heard there's gonna be really clean drugs at the big gig. I just checked the event page on Facebook (remember FB? the people organizing the big gig do) and it looks like your favorite English teacher from High School will be at the big gig. Looking a little closer here and it also looks like that person you had a crush on in your favorite English teacher's class is going to be there. Don't worry. They didn't learn about the big gig from Facebook. They learned about the big gig from other cool and subcultural channels. Before/after the bands go up, the DJ will be playing some cool music at the big gig. The Strokes. The Tokes. The Hues. The Moody Blues. Muddy Water Band. Rachel and the Rachels. The Hydraulic Blues. The Plums. The Hughs. The Manila Experience. Oh and one more thing. There's kind of a catch. To get an invite to big, you must do one little thing. Just a tiny little thing barely worth mentioning. YOU MUST GIVE UP YOUR SOUL FOR ROCK AND ROLL.

This past 'Bank Holiday' Weekender-bender here in London I noticed that there have been at least 3 'festivals' from Friday to Sunday***: Wide Awake, Gala (??) and Cross the Tracks. At least two apparently in one place: Brockwell Park. [Imagine the poor cleaners having to deal with the mission impossible to Purify the entire park full of cans and other multitude of festival trash in just 24 hours like....] The other, which I have never heard of, was nearby - Peckham Rye. ***On Monday, a friend was even like doing a DJ set for a festival called 'City Splash' AGAIN happening in Brockwell Park, literally the day after. In less than a week there will be another addition: SXSW festival for the first time ever on the English lands with an unmissable dj set by ERYKAH BADU, then brand-new 'Lido' with CHARLI XCX having the 3083568458947th party of the year, then pops up of Pride gigs like Mighty Hoopla Festival, then Southbank Meltdown under Little Slimz' curation, then BTS Hyde Park with a rare performance by Stevie Wonder, then of course you go up north and you sneak in (with your mind) to Glastonbury or you can choose to fly to Primavera Sound in Porto (Barcelona is like off-limits due to the extremely-claustropho/Bi/c gay-panic there will be with headliners like CHAPPEL ROAN, SABRINA CARPENTER, CHARLI XCX (x3) ), then the classics 1-day-jamboree: All Points East, Wireless, Download Reading and Leeds and Electric Picnic. The list in like endless and I cannot keep up. Since 15 I have been the enthusiast concert-goer par excellence, imagining myself even someday to cross those amplifying stages, but now it feels like.... overwhelming?! Idk if this represents more opportunities for small artists but yeah it seems that there is too much on the roaster to even try to engage fully to any big event and it's a shame, because of the unfair pricing monopoly of ticketmaster/live nation I think all those new shows are made to grab lots of cash from the pockets of the Gen Z (big majority) who can barely afford even a fancy meal in a local cafe. Mixed feeling on this, what do you reckon (from the East-to-West coast)?

I just went to a Fontaines DC show and it was really great, but I had such a weird experience with the crowd. I think a lot of new fans don’t realize that this band came out of an Irish punk movement, and their concerts will thus come with punk fans. People who wanted more a more poppy ambience after hearing a few singles like starburster and favorite seemed visibly disappointed that people were jumping around in the front. If you listen to any earlier music, especially the first two albums, you can assume that the concert will lean more punk. The dirty looks, the refusal to move at all, and the lead singer having to hype people up to get the rest of the crowd to move all in all was just really weird and not in the spirit of the night. It’s okay if you don’t wanna mosh or even move, but hype up your fellow friends who do and leave the judgment at home

this is ur sign to go to that small gig of that artist u don’t listen to but are interested in cause i saw buck meek last night and it has unironically changed my brain chemistry, such a beautiful show, the band chemistry was so wonderful to see and their stage presence is unmatched !! and i wouldn’t have known if i convinced myself that i had to know every song to see them. such a vibe, just swayed and got lost in the sounds 🥁🎟️

Just met Woody Allen IRL and saved his life. There was a big scary spider about to bite into him. Luckily I was there to stop anything bad from happening. The spider was huge. Almost as big as the spider from the lord of the rings movies or other movies about big spiders. Soon-Yi was also there. She says hello and that she was moved by my act of selfless bravery.
