Despite my past fears, I have spent the last year leaning to love bugs. Researching bugs and looking for them on my walks and noticing noticing noticing. Things are less scary when they aren’t unknown! The world is more beautiful when you appreciate the things that make it work! To be alive is to be in community with the wild world around us! Bugs are cool!
When is the last time you sat down outside and watched some bugs? They’re small and beautiful and make the world go round. Some of my favorite childhood memories include turning over rocks in the desert, looking for centipedes and scorpions with my dad. I highly recommend watching some bugs go about their day; bees and ants are especially enthralling.
Insects are stunning beings. Their design, structure, color. Highly rec if you want to marvel.

Sometimes I recommend being a hater. I’m not here to talk about the numerous quality uses of AI, how often it is actually used nor am I here to critique AI without strawmanning it. I don’t care if I strawman an account of AI because I genuinely despise the way most people use AI. I think AI generated images are ugly. I think that AI cannot hold a half decent conversation. I’m completely avoidant when it comes to showing AI my writing; I’ve never done it and I refuse to. I hate when you go to that one poetry website and there is AI “analysis” there, because its not real textual analysis and it upholds a certain contextualised intentionalist framework of reading a text reinforced in high school English. I hate that the meta AI will influence what products will be advertised to you. I don’t care if it’s the future. I genuinely love being called a dinosaur because I hate AI.
Side tables are out, vibe tables are in. Just put all your trinkets, possessions without utility and favourite belongings that are your vibe. The space should have no utility, nor should it pretend like it does (like the conventional side table does). Let it be the place in your room which makes you smile, even if the rest of your space looks like a pigsty.
