Considering the fact that I know almost nobody with an ice maker built into their fridge who isn't my mom, the countertop ice machine is a criminally under-discussed revolution in kitchen technology. I HATE refilling those horrible trays and spilling water everywhere and never having ice when I need it. Mine is hot pink and cranks out so much ice in like 15 minutes. Honestly changed my life. I make fancy shaken cocktails on a whim now

didn't have an ice machine for the longest time, but now i'm back with my parents for a bit and they have a somewhat fancy refrigerator with and ice and water dispenser! i had been going for cubes and living my best life. yesterday, someone else had set the ice settings to crushed, and i was in awe of the texture!!!!

Work that ice maker, top off every beverage all day with ice. Stir it up and get the liquid cold AF right away. Maximize the cold. It feels so good going down, it almost hurts. It should be colder than ice cream. Especially if you live in a dry desert like I do in Tucson, it's high priority.

yeah this stainless steel ice tray has to be left out for 10 mins before you can dramatically pull up the lever but damn does my ice taste good
Optional flourish is to get tiny ice tongs from the Japanese market to stop you from getting cold fingies

People underestimate the power of the olfactory when it comes to coaxing yourself to sleep. Melatonin has just given me schizo dreams so I started spritzing myself with a few calming fragrances right before bed and it really changed everything.
Not only is it a totally decadent and regal thing to do, it really does help you go to sleep. I go for Le Labo Ylang if I'm feeling really bougie but otherwise I'll do a dupe of Tom Ford Ombré Leather or Lust by Lush.
Speaking of Lush, solid perfumes are EXCELLENT for this as they smell great, last a long time, and it can take years to run out.

I've become a pretty intense VHS collector over the last year and one of the great joys of this new hobby has been all of the good people online selling fanmade tapes of contemporary movies. They take the graphic design for the packaging VERY seriously and it's such a unique and lovingly made novelty item to have in your house. Plus they're actually playable and watching some straight-to-Netflix type shit with VHS grain makes you feel like you've stepped through a portal to another world. I think the hyperrealness of 4K HD we're all subject to is evil and everyone should have a VCR.
