I will never forgive Jonathan Van Ness for changing the formula of the purple Nurture shampoo/conditioner, a set I was swindled into buying by some gay guy at Sephora that literally changed my life. Now it's some blue horrible chemical smelling garbage I hate. The purple stuff was so out of this world I almost stopped hating JVN the person. HOWEVER-- the formula and scent of the air dry cream remains unchanged from the purple stuff: and it is the best hair product I've ever used. For those with poofy Jewish guy hair that struggles with humidity, this is the only thing that has kept me looking like I don't live in a group home. Smells DIVINE too. Put it in while your hair's juuuust a little damp.

I always turn to VO5 shampoo or the green Suave bottle. Sometimes you need your head to be fresh and clean and this is what shampoo is for. But I don’t really understand paying large amounts of money to degrease my hair. VO5 is a good way to fly under the radar and it provides really consistent results. Every time I use a shampoo that’s weird or nice I never know what I’m going to look like when I wake up. I specifically enjoy the strawberries and cream flavor of VO5, I like seeing the picture of the strawberry on the bottle and I like the Pepto Bismol color. I’m remembering now too that this is what my dad and grandfather both used to buy for me and I think that’s cute.

used this while i stayed w one off my besties Jess. not only does it SMELL good but it doesn’t leave a white car in my hair and gives it some voooolume! i have fairly thick Asian hair n usually dry shampoo leaves the worst white cast and makes it feel gross. still don’t like how dry shampoo feels but this bc it’s the best i’ve used so far. also like the Aussie one but i think they discontinued it 😪 oh warning it DID leave a white cast when i was at the very end of the bottle

I definitely think nearly everybody or everybody should just wash their hair!! Anyway I recently started using Kristin Ess Gentle shampoo and conditioner and it smells incredible though very feminine (chocolatey and coconutty and floral 🙊) and gets the scalp and hair perfectly clean and soft. I read a lot of reviews from people who love it for their flakey scalps. I also used to really love HiBar solid shampoo and conditioner! With any shampoo don’t be afraid to wash twice if your hair doesn’t feel clean the first time. For curly hair I might also recommend a leave-in cream; Kristin Ess makes an air drying cream that I also enjoy and you would use the tiniest pea-size amount.

I don't mean going to get groceries or Starbucks or something. I mean a bar or a movie or a diner-- places where you're expected to have company. Can either highlight some areas you need to improve psychologically or can make you feel totally sublime and alive

People underestimate the power of the olfactory when it comes to coaxing yourself to sleep. Melatonin has just given me schizo dreams so I started spritzing myself with a few calming fragrances right before bed and it really changed everything. Not only is it a totally decadent and regal thing to do, it really does help you go to sleep. I go for Le Labo Ylang if I'm feeling really bougie but otherwise I'll do a dupe of Tom Ford Ombré Leather or Lust by Lush. Speaking of Lush, solid perfumes are EXCELLENT for this as they smell great, last a long time, and it can take years to run out.

I've become a pretty intense VHS collector over the last year and one of the great joys of this new hobby has been all of the good people online selling fanmade tapes of contemporary movies. They take the graphic design for the packaging VERY seriously and it's such a unique and lovingly made novelty item to have in your house. Plus they're actually playable and watching some straight-to-Netflix type shit with VHS grain makes you feel like you've stepped through a portal to another world. I think the hyperrealness of 4K HD we're all subject to is evil and everyone should have a VCR.
