Did this last year, need to start again. The most relaxing and resetting thing you can do for yourself, also helps you build more productive and fun daily routines when you can’t fill the time scrolling or listening to something mindless. cant recommend enough!

I would say Sunday and replace it will a full day of self care and resting, eating, watching your favorite shows, etc. i feel like that’s a good way to start a new week/beat the Sunday scaries

i reserve Monday nights for egregious scrolling while simultaneously watching something on the ‘big‘ screen (tonight it’s a youtube video about disgraced YouTube groomer Onision) while also eating something delicious + lying horizontal with flippers/legs akimbo like a pregnant sea lion. If you can’t escape the productivity mindset and are always harping about ’wasting your life’ while also complaining about extreme tiredness then allot a specific time to run your phone battery down and your social battery up. YMMV if you have kids or dependents. If you have a cat they will love this new you.

making it a point to set aside sundays for cleaning the whole house and doing all your self care is SOOOOOO nice. it’ll literally change your life. my sundays now feel like what i imagine christians feel like on sundays. i did all my dishes, tidied up all my messes from the week, grocery shopped, swept, mopped, vacuumed, did laundry, etc. and then took an everything shower, refreshed my hair dye, dermaplaned, dyed my eyebrows, painted my nails and toes, etc. I FEEL SO NICE AND RELAXED!!!!! plus, since i make it a point to have no other plans on sundays, i did all this with time left over to chill out on my freshly vacuumed living room rug and do my diamond painting while watching youtube. this was literally the best life choice i’ve made this year and im gonna continue doing it every sunday possible, barring any important events like weddings, bday parties etc.

and don’t do any errands or cleaning that day, just like set a little budget — get a book and read it in the park with a snack, or take yourself out to coffee / people watch and then go see a movie or two. or go to a museum right when it opens and then get lunch (outside!) for yourself and pick something else to do after. for me, at least one part has to be artistic (book/film/art) and another has to be outside (most important part) then at the end of the day, find a good spot to watch the sunset and journal about your day and feelings!! it feels better because you’ll be in less of a slump after a nice day and will have a lighter mood to be thinking about what’s up lastly… go home and do a full shower, do the most relaxing possible version of your nightly routine (and no scrolling social media). if you can, wash your sheets a day or two before and put on a fresh set of PJs that night too… it makes crawling into bed that much better (also bonus points if you meditate before you fall asleep) i find this (one-day vacation? 12 hr solo date?) is a really nice way to reset my brain when everything is overwhelming or i feel like i’m stuck not doing much besides going through the motions. i tend to do it every few weeks lately and it is surprisingly refreshing ✨

Hey friends, wanna throw a comedy podcast recommendation your way. Almost nothing in this world makes me laugh harder than Scott Aukerman and the cast of fake people that appear on CBB each week. It’s been going for 15 years with thousands and thousands of segments and bits seared into my mind, I would recommend it to anyone who likes really dumb comedy like I do!
