Jim Blashfield "Suspicious Circumstances"

I love this short film. I love the flatness of the collaged stop motion. This short film led Jim to make the “And She Was” music vid for Talking Heads. I like that one too. I really ripped him off for this Slow Pulp music video I made. His process seems to involve these extensive photo shoots to source all the pieces for his collage rather than flipping through National Geographic. I would love to try something like that.

Andy goldsworthy and Being IMPERMANent

such an amazing artist because his work doesn’t last. this documentary on youtube is relaxing to watch and makes you want to get out and interact with the world in ways that don’t use it up or consume but add to it and then disappear.

Paying yourself first

Money evaporates in my checking account. Sure, I could put it in a savings account and make 0.4% interest, but I'll end up transferring it back into my checking account anyway.  Put a quarter of that paycheck into an index fund like the Fidelity 500 Index Fund making an average of 14.68% interest on those hard earned dollars and you won't be tempted to transfer it out. You can finally save up for that SSENSE espresso machine you've always wanted.
