philipstick believe it or not these are roOTS!!!!! it was a hyuuuuuge old growth tree that had toppled after what i can only assume was a very very long life

kimmybartle noooo i was a leetle afraid… plus it was off the trail which is a) against nature reserve etiquette and b) an obvious fae trap
You should go back and walk through it to see if anything happens.
I once crawled under a fallen trunk that was 3 feet off the ground and for some reason i the color of my surroundings became warme.

I found a branch Standing straight up in a clearing one time and my goblin brain forced me to take it with me. Later on the hike I found the stone remnants of a cottage or barn (idk I’m not knowledgable about such things). As soon as I put the branch down in the barn/cottage a thunderstorm rolled in. I have never felt such an endorphin rush in my life. Felt like I completed some kind of ancient quest…

I just started watching this silly show called Primeval - and the portal to dinosaur time looked just like that. Keep an eye out for any stray raptors!
