Literally just try it. And don’t have a bad attitude about it either. If your friend is in a healthy relationship with a normal person you will probably have a good time.

it’s really delightful to hang out with a couple. some of my best friends are couples. it can be a little melancholic to sit alone in the backseat of a car with two lovers in the front seats holding hands, but it’s a hopeful kind of melancholy.

It can be scary to bring together friends from different groups or parts of your life, but once in awhile I go for it anyways and it’s always so rewarding. They usually get along great and sometimes even become great friends. If they don’t get along, then it’s only an hour or two of awkward and you can gossip about it later.

asked best friend to sit with a group of people i’ve been trying to get to know and not only did he give me a queasy look he said :/ “they’re loud” and i said “you haven’t even tried hanging out with them” and he looked disgusted. he then said he was gonna try and then they weren’t in their usual spot so he just went where we usually go. wanted to DIE when that happened because i love him and want to hang out with him but i also want to get to know this new group of people and i don’t think it’s fair for him to not even try to talk to them. when he wanted me to sit with aileen i didn’t act like that and if he wanted me to sit with other people i wouldn’t act like that. why does he act like that :(
