get some friends together and plan a clothing swap! I find I am more likely to get rid of my unique pieces that I’ve been hanging on to when I think a friend might like them. I’ve also found some of my favorite items this way! Or just ask friends to go through your pile and donate the rest. Or give them no choice in the matter. I had a friend complement a sweater, and I was like cool it’s your’s now.

donate your stale clothes to a thrift store a few hours away from you get new clothes from thrift stores a few hours away from you there is something magical and refreshing about clothes from somewhere else BUT you have to donate too, and you have to put anything that fell on the ground back on a hanger

Maybe this is a me problem, but don’t buy a piece of clothing that you really like and just mostly leave it in your closet bc you think it is too nice for everyday events. Bonus: A lot of the times the item starts to look better with more wear.
