approaching yoga as a self care necessity instead of how society views ”exercise“ as an obligation or way to achieve body image standards has changed my life. Not in drastic ways, but in a meaningful way that I think has spilled over into other spaces like journaling, drawing and being more aware of how I spend my time. I do it at home so it’s free. Taking 75-90 minutes on a weekend just for myself, with no texts to answer or things to do always feels so good. But even a 10 minute stretch session makes me more way aware of my body, releases tension in my neck, back, shoulders, hips, and gives me space to take care of myself.
