organize and pack everything by what room they go in even if similar things are separated (ex: living room books don’t go with bedroom books, bathroom jewelry doesn’t go with bedroom jewelry) so that you can just unpack one room at a time instead of having things from multiple rooms in one box and then having to bounce around to unpack it. much less chaotic this way and easier to see progress/feel productive.
It helps with grounding myself and feeling like I’ve really arrived. Plus, got more gear now that I have two kids in tow. I like creating a little altar for myself as well.
Some call it the nappucino. I did not invent the concept and am merely a proponent. Instructions as follows:
1. Drink coffee
2. Nap (no alarm)
3. Naturally awaken 20 minutes later as the caffeine starts to hit and go forward into the day with renewed focus and clarity
Also can be done with tea if you’re into that. You’re also then allowed to call it a tiesta.
It’s a show from the 90s where John Lurie takes a guest (and friend) fishing.
John has no fishing experience. Nothing really happens. It’s the funniest thing I’ve seen this year.
I’d suggest starting with William Dafoe, Matt Dillon, or Tom Waits.
