I'm a fan of big pants, but for the top portion... button up, sweater, maybe even throw in a light jacket as a midlayer. Or you could always take it in the elegant, old, costumey direction... Or go for margot tenenbaum with one of those lacoste polo dress things... or just go weird with it and wear all your craziest pieces

wide pants are the obvious thing. jeans, chinos, fatigues, double knees, whatever. I'm also a fan of Needles' big track pants. A big shirt can certainly work, but try big, high rise pants, with a small shirt / tee / sweater tucked in, and then layer a big coat over that that's on the longer side — a chunky bomber, a thrifted overcoat, whatever you're into. the long coat + high rise pant creates two different horizontal lines, so you get the proportion benefits of both—your legs look long but your torso doesn't look short. then, you can go in a lot of different directions with the shoes. hiker-sneakers, chunky loafers, funky boots, weird mules, paraboot michaels, those 3sixteen sidezips, anything from yuketen...

always put too many layers on, for the fashion. sweater over long dress. short dress over longer dress. cardigan over jacket over button up. bulky socks over tights. lots of japanese fashion like mori kei, dolly kei or decora has some really unique layering styles that might be worth checking out

Oversized brown houndstooth sweater coat I’ve had for like five years, funky vintage metallic gold sweater I’ve had for ten years, wool men’s fedora I stole from costumes when I played a male gangster in a middle school play, big scarves, sheer black pantyhose, black boots, black dresses, black blazers… maybe get back into some aggressive pattern clashing idk I’m feeling quirky

I feel like this place isn't about people but about recommendations, right? forget the influencer, forget the individual, just browse and talk about cool shit and whoever says something good, that's good. that's what I liked about reddit, back when I actually liked reddit. I haven't found many people I want to follow, and I'm not really looking.

I've been enjoying new clothes, and experimenting them with fun ways, so much lately that I need to keep reminding myself of this. Not every excursion outside needs to be fresh and new and experimental. If I am going out and I need a warm sweater and I need my sneakers and I already have a fit in mind with those pieces, I can just wear it, I don't need to reinvent the wheel every time.
