ok ok Lao Gan Ma chili crisp is so fuckin delicious in soups and rice dishes, it’s a mandatory condiment in my house!
Just, make sure you wash your hands after use. I got a huge glob of chili oil in my eyes once and i wanted to curl up and die.
And Mae Ploy Sweet Chili sauce is so good!! I usually use it as a dip or small add-on for rice, but it’s a good way to get some mild heat in a dish. I like it so much, i won’t kid you, i would in fact eat it on ice cream.
Beware, the flavor is very noticeable, and will make your whole dish taste like it, so if you really are tired of leftovers, dunk it in this stuff.

The upside of the chili crisp boom is that there are a lot of new options, many of them from small sellers and each with a different approach to flavor and texture. Toss this around with some noodles, throw in crispy tofu and scallions if you have 'em, and you've got my go-to weekday lunch.

It goes on everything, I’m disgusting. My favorite meal for it though is day old white rice, butter, soy sauce, spicy chili crisp, topped with a fried egg that’s crispy on the sides. if I could have this as my last meal, I’d die happy.

It’s a weird but good contrast, and will make any bad ice cream taste better. Compliments well with plain vanilla ice cream where you have the cold and sweetness, and then hint of heat of spice.
Recommend using the OG chili oil, Lao gan ma.

i’m talking board games, sewing machines, language classes, coding lessons, cds and dvds (that you can rip and copy and kEEP - none of the librarians are gonna tell you shit for that), maker spaces, 3D printers, community events, ballet classes, movie nights, car repair lessons, resume help, free national park tickets, bat tours during october! It’s great!
And for free?!?? in thIS economy? Literally why pay for a coworking space when the library is Right there, with free wifi and quiet rooms all to yourself.
And if there are things you don’t see offered but want to? Ask! Or even better, offer!! Start your own thing, get to know your community members.

i got a small bowl of hard/soft candies by the front door so anyone walking in my front door can have a lil treat when they arrive ☺️ and it’s nice to have something sweet after a long day
and change it w the seasons! werther’s caramels in the winter and guava candy in the summer :)
