I have had internet friends since pretty much forever and still keep in touch with people I met on tumblr and early instagram. I love being like, ”oh yeah my internet friend“ it makes me feel tapped in to another portal of life. And it’s soooo fun when you get a serendipitous opportunity to meet in person

When I was 13 I started making friends on Xanga - some of who have become my closest long term friends IRL. I think it’s neat that something as simple as a shared love for a band can spawn such deep long lasting friendships that take you who knows where.
There was a 10 year gap in there though. It's nice to know you can reconnect with people after your lives take different paths.
As far as friendships without gaps, 14 years.
