Truly one of those songs where the cover becomes infinitely more iconic than the OG. That said Iâve been collecting my fav song covers for a while so in a lot of ways this is an impossible choice but this song has been a staple for me lately

i made a playlist of some heavy hitters. sometimes you can just tell an artist covers a song and you know that it's because, in a different universe, they would have written it themselves. sometimes they take a bad/mediocre song and you realize that it pretty was good all along. sometimes someone will sing a song and you can hear the reverence in their voice and it makes you love the music with them. its incredible really. i like the idea of sharing in the act of creation like that. favs on the playlist are stevie wonder, lianne la havas and michael cera palin

I was going through the Ignatian approach to education today (adapted from the Spiritual Exercises for those keeping track at home) and this tenet is just so good.
St. Ignatius says that a person, âought to be more eager to put a good interpretation on a neighborâs statement than to condemn it.Further, if one cannot interpret it favorably, one should ask how the other means it. This is very Hanlonâs razor (never attribute to malice what you can attribute to stupidity/ignorance) and I just feel like having a curious posture like this is a major slay and makes us better people

Like look at this shit. Just kinda sick tbh. The Eastern church invented maximalism which is just very slay for them (even if you aren't into God or whatever I feel like you can enjoy old buildings with tons of art everywhere)
