family name nothing too exciting (mom has the same middle name and so on) but my parents are very cute for naming me Megan and having my initials be M.E.G. (Megan Elizabeth G********)

When I was a younger, I never liked "Megan", it didn't feel like it fit me. Whenever I went someplace new where people wouldn't have to know me for a long time, I tried out different names for myself to see what would fit, but nothing else really did. As an adult, I finally feel like Megan/Meg is right. I've come to appreciate the ways my friends have shaped it and made it their own little codeword for me, like Mego, Mango, even my username Meggle came from friends. I finally feel at home in Megan, it just took me a bit of time.

I have a very traditional biblical name as some of you may know and i was sad that it was entirely un-nick-namable but I think it suits me and my personality now. My parents almost named me Kirsten and I sometimes wonder if I would be different if they had gone with that
and I LOVE when little old southern ladies say my first name and middle name together especially if they preface it with a Miss. my last name is actually too unique, hyphenated, and ridiculously long and was embarrassing to me for most of my life but I’ve found peace with that too and wouldn’t change it for anything đŸ«¶

and i like my name! it's normal but unique, classic and fashionable. it's very easy to make MANY nicknames with it (georgi is the one i prefer, but i know 2 other georginas with different nicknames, and people sometimes give me other nicknames: gina, gigi, geo, toti, chorchi, just to name a few). i have a second name and a last name that are also italian (we're Argentinian), and my whole name is pretty cool and unique. tbh, one of the best things my parents have done for me.

Currently have three full pages in my notebook! I guess some might call this a gratitude journal LOL but it’s different when I do it.  My brother was telling me about this phenomenon called “target fixation”. It’s a panic reflex that happens when motorcyclists become fixated on a singular object, obstacle, hazard (e.g. a sharp curve on a winding road) and they will unconsciously steer in the direction of the thing they’re trying to avoid because their hands follow their gaze which leads to accidents.  You will follow your gaze so be aware of where you’re looking. Train yourself to seek out pleasure and appreciation! Understanding where + what you derive pleasure from increases your capacity to enjoy things which in turn makes you a more interesting person (imo). I think it’s just as important self-knowledge as understanding your triggers/trauma. It is a daily willingness to be transformed by small things. Sorry for lecturing but I want good things for all of you. Xoxo, meg
