I love being a granny! Don’t get me wrong I’m very vibrant and fun and love to cut loose and spread my wings and shake my tail feather but only when it’s worth it. I miss China chalet. I don’t really like all these new spots that appear out of thin air and are gone in the blink of eye. I grew up in nyc so I got a lot of partying out of my system at a pretty young age. I miss the dope spots, things feel kind of redundant now I wouldn’t mind a themed party or masquerade ball but not in a corny way just in a fun way. In the meantime. i’m lucky enough still have a grandmother in my mid 30s—which I think is an age where you’re settled enough to finally get to know your adult family members on a personal level. The generation gap definitely means I’m always on my toes when we hang out cos I can never predict what she’s gonna do, but she’s funny and wise, makes friends wherever she goes, doesn’t give af, is a mean cook, can do quiet company like no one else, and loves me to smithereens.

i took the semester off because of my brain and im living w my grandmother in the city in the smallest state of the world.
my grandmother is loud and asks me uncomfortable questions but Im going to blame it on her age and not get angry
she has so little time
they were talking abt alzeimhers meds at dinner and I really hope I don’t get it
the man there was talking about his pastrami parties where they all get around the table and pick add the fresh peppery pastrami sizzling out of the oven
and how his father used to make pastrami in Brooklyn
and that he had a pastrami business
anyway
an elderly woman just explained to me her peace and acceptance towards her own death

thinking why some people can go and be all peace and noncommittal
what luck
and privilege! to sacrifice your body and time to ur kids and ur husband and ur work and still have enough
to have a country and community that loves you

Tarina is my favorite jewelry designer and sparkly pink haired icon. Her jewelry, the kidrobot capsule collection to be exact, has become a staple in my wardrobe. I seriously have done my best to monopolize the kidrobot stuff because it’s so perfect and jewelry from my dreams. You might be able to find her stuff soon at my fave store Big Ash.

This is my favorite sweet shop downtown. If you know me you know I love candy and have a major sweet tooth. This place is so chic and all of the chocolates are just fabulous little morsels of flavor with dope little designs on them. Best place for a vday gift and the NYC themed boxes rock.
