Tchotchke's S/T was one of my favorite albums of 2022 and recently just got back into it. 60's girl group pop-punk songs about being horny, mostly. rips so good esp when the weather starts getting warm
Three dorky guys in Austin pretend to be British and put their whole pussies into a few singles and one full length synth-pop-punk album (compilation?). I definitely had a weird crush on one of them in high school based off of one or two grainy photos. Standout tracks for me: Skin of Another Man, Nance Music Manifesto. Iām going to be honest I donāt even know if Iāve listened to the whole album, this was back in the ādownload one song at a time on a 56k modemā eraā¦
Purpur Spytt (Charlotte Mermoud of The Staches solo) - Scavenges, Timeā-ātravels, and Scrapbooks. Minimal post punk heavy on the bass, light on guitars, plus some keyboard squiggles with art punk vocals that play dodgeball with melody.
My favorite undergroundish post punk band from Chicago. Itās just a trio of teenagers and they fuckinā rip. They have put out 2 EPs over the past couple of years that work great as an a-side/b-side, respectively.
Many people on here are saying this but I especially want to rec wearing them at the show. You will have a better time and still hear the great music I promise.
Super cute and earnest new zine out from Amsterdam about plants and gardening. Whole issue here about artichokes with art, history, and notes on how to grow it. I am an avid gardener and have some cool vintage gardening texts; super stoked this exists to add to the collection. Hopefully getting the issue on compost next time I'm over in NL
