Too many to choose from, pajama sam and freddie fish are in the pantheon for sure, but this space game was a deep favorite of mine for some time growing up. Watching gameplay now and the fx are hysterical yet nostalgic.
not too long ago, I made a list going of all the PC games I could recall playing as a kid. I wanted to relive those precious afternoons I spent losing track of time in the computer lab of my public library.
I recently found one of my favs, Pajama Sam: No Need to Hide When It's Dark Outside (1996) on Steam. playing it as an adult brought me so much joy, I can't even tell you. and the reviews on Steam made me smile so much, especially the one below (hilarious). I also realized that Pajama Sam is voiced by Pamela Adlon (Spinelli Recess, Bobby King of the Hill, etc.) which is cool af.
so go find those games you used to play & travel back in time! I was shocked with how much I remembered. plus there's nothing like hearing those 90's sound FX, they just don't make em like that anymore. :')
Jumpstart Animal Adventures that Iād play ALL the time before and after Primary School. This echolocation song was burned into my brain and I still catch myself singing the words āI find my prey I find my way, echo-loca-tion yeahhhā : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vvr4KSDA9Yo
(Batney Ears tho, iconic)
also I had an early game save just to leave Jak & Daxter running on Sentinel Beach even when I wasn't actively playing it, purely so I could listen to its theme whenever I wanted. My parents would get annoyed at me for leaving the TV on haha, but hearing it always made me feel so calm (:

i mostly played ds games as a kid but for some reason this pc game that i used to play at my parentsā enormous iMac G3 comes to mind. itās a point and click adventure game where youāre a little anthropomorphic detective fish with a sidekick named luther (nothing funnier to a seven-year-old than a fish named luther). i think the one i played was freddi fish and the case of the haunted schoolhouse, which was juuuust creepy enough to interest me while still being age appropriate
Get a haircut, get rid of some clothes you havenāt worn in years, get a new houseplant, get in touch with the changing season, get grounded, get stoned, get in touch with some old friends, get some ice cream, get going
Friends you met out in the neighborhood at a bar or park or cafe or wherever a couple times and struck up a rapport with.
You donāt have eachotherās phone numbers, no social media info.
I have a couple friends like this and itās been such a nice social change up. Always a pleasant surprise to bump into them out and about.
