i used to put on a record while i was getting breakfast and waking up. it was the fucking best. cannot recommend it enough. even better when you remember to choose the record the night before, so you don't even have to make a decision in the morning.
Ha ha but seriously I like to get up, turn on my manual espresso machine so that it has time to heat up, and just start doing things right away to push through the groggy sleepiness. If I loved myself I would do some kind of ten-minute stretch video like this. Once I move out of the satanic office park in which I currently reside I will start taking walks with my dog first thing in the morning.
It’s 25 minutes long but during some of the hardest times of my life listening to this immediately upon waking up and before even getting out of bed has been a soothing balm to my soul…
one of the best motivators for me to wake up earlier is leaving time to make breakfast before heading out. especially on weekends, I love playing some music, lighting some incense, and going hard on a breakfast sando
