and then you’re hashing out childhood wounds and petty grievances and setting out all the obstacles in the light so you can face them together. Pretty nice human experience.

Past few dates people have been opening up to me about their trauma/family dynamics/deep shame and it hasn’t been weird at all, I’m just here to listen and maybe share something in return and be a comfort. it’s kinda surprising for a first date but it kinda levels the atmosphere and breaks the ice super quick and let’s you see the complexities of who’s sitting before you

i finally got a chance to say that tonight. that the long standing pain and confusion i found myself in finally gave way to a deeper understanding of my inner workings. the beat thing i learned how to do was talk honestly with the people i hold dear. its terrifying, but absolutely worth sticking your neck out to get the help and clarity you need. goodnight fellas 🫶

Meeting notes, letters, journal entries, lists, mind mapping, whatever, it gives you a reason to use cool pens/markers, notebooks/paper. You can also practice your handwriting like when you were a kid (btw did anyone else’s school ascribe social status to the way you wrote a lowercase “a”?). This includes cursive which is a dying art! Something something scientific studies about how writing by hand helps with processing information and emotions… but mostly, it’s just an awesome sensory experience. It makes your notes, ideas, etc. really feel like YOUR OWN.
