The cobblestone has trad music everynight (I think!)

lived in dublin for 4 months in 2022!! -get pastries at bread 41 -books upstairs and hodges figgis for bookshops (get the toastie in the cafe inside books upstairs) -if you like irish lit, the museum of literature is well-curated; james joyce museum in dun laoghaire is in the martello tower from the beginning of ulysses (run by the sweetest elderly volunteers and has a gorgeous view up top) -phoenix park is huge and gorgeous!! -grogan’s is a great/classic pub -workman’s and fibber magee’s usually have a gig on, good for a dance or two -a 2am slice of difontaine’s pizza after a workman’s night out… heaven! if you want to get out of dublin, 20ish minutes on the DART to howth (gorgeous cliff walk/hike, fish & chips) or dun laoghaire (for a swim at forty foot) is a great change of pace!!

get the overground around Hackney ! It’s pretty! most of the museums/galleries have free collections (both Tate modern & Tate Britain, national gallery, V&A as already mentioned — V&A definitely worth a visit) . i also love the museum of the home, the photographer’s gallery, & the ICA (ICA has a cinema and brilliant bookshop also, & it’s v near Trafalgar Square so you can combine classic tourist activity with Something more obscure lol!). I am a big shopping gworl so i actually love dipping around carnaby street and libertys (which is so beautiful inside!). depends where youre staying etc and if it stays sunny but honestly the quintessential summer thing to do would be : Sit in a pub with a garden !!!!! & again - as it’s summer - highly recommend finding a gross little club or gig to go to. if I’m bored I just check resident advisor or dice and see whats coming up. if you’re comfortable sharing which area you’re staying in then I can send more specific recs hehe

Harvard Square: Highly recommend the free! Harvard Art Museums in Cambridge. And if youre in a movie mood there’s cool showings at The Brattle! They’re playing Barry Lyndon this weekend :) and then maybe a yummy Big and Tasty from Tasty Burger and a Lime Rickey 🖼️🎥🍔💭 North End: The Paul Revere House is sooo tiny it’s fun to see how the midnight rider was living… then some pasta at Giacomo’s 🤌🏼 and walk along the Freedom Trail til you get to Bova’s for the superior cannoli 🇮🇹🍝🇺🇸 Scattered throughout the city: Mount Auburn Cemetery The Middle East The Burren The BPL (good library) The Mary Baker Eddy Library (weird library…) Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum South Boston Candlepin :)
