lol, I “did attend” with some college friends and it was a spectacle. people dressed up like it was a music festival to fit the themes in the note, the brewery on girard made a special jalapeño ipa for the event. I still quote “of course, you’ll be sedated first“
yuriko invited me to her going away party because I asked to try her ginger beer when she rec’d it a while back. the ginger beer apparently exploded before it could be served but I met some cool people, ate some nice cake, lost at chess, and had a good time. if socializing is your thing I recommend the experience, kinda fun to be the mysterious stranger at the function.
threw an indie sleaze themed birthday party, made batched cocktails, had cheap beer and snacks, had an epic playlist of electroclash and indie jams, polaroids and all
pic from the night in question. three cheers to skinny jeans, American Apparel, and losing insurance from your parents
Get a haircut, get rid of some clothes you haven’t worn in years, get a new houseplant, get in touch with the changing season, get grounded, get stoned, get in touch with some old friends, get some ice cream, get going
Friends you met out in the neighborhood at a bar or park or cafe or wherever a couple times and struck up a rapport with.
You don’t have eachother’s phone numbers, no social media info.
I have a couple friends like this and it’s been such a nice social change up. Always a pleasant surprise to bump into them out and about.
