Itโ€™s Chinese new year right now and while celebrating I decided to ask my grandma how to cook one of my favourite dishes from her (her rendition of steamed egg)โ€ฆ this combined with the fact that shes stopped cooking for about a year now and we did not eat a meal prepped by her at the table for the first time this year. As she ages I think itโ€™s gotten more important to learn her recipes just as something to remember her by. Itโ€™s soul food. Itโ€™s also good to learn these recipes as it really gets you connected to your culture and makes for good conversation. (Added bonus if you try to converse in your mother tongue).

Cooking is a love language for me, so I try to make lots of different stuff all of the time. I love to make brownies and cookies often. I work at a fruit farm, so I get lots of free fruit to put into cobblers, jams, and syrups. Meals wise, rice bowls in many different forms are so reliable. I often make them with shrimp, carrots, cucumber, seaweed, edamame, and spicy mayo ๐Ÿ˜‹ Soup is ALWAYS on the list as well, any kind!

leaves you susceptible to dating someone for too long because they play a role rather than it being about who they are. if you go in open to every situation, it will play out as its supposed to naturally (sometimes with a little nudge)
