SFAH - teaches you the basics of food, although it's not very recipe heavy. the graphics are so cute. so many tiny paintings tender heart has really good recipes! the chapters are organized by veggies so you can buy like 5 pounds of cabbage and you can read through the different ways to cook them! i don't really like her recipes bc i have a delicate palette (lol) but molly baz's cookbooks have the BEST graphic design. i think her husband is her graphic curator.... so spunky and cute

SFAH is so good and if you’re into it you may also like Start Here by Sohla El-Waylly. it has a similar exploring-the-science-of-food vibe that i love

I recommend Molly Baz's first cookbook, it's catered for beginners and has QR codes for quick tutorials (i.e. how to properly cut something). And I also recommend The Art of Simple Food by Alice Waters, a culinary queen. For any and all secondhand books, I highly rec Better World Books

Some mornings before heading to our office jobs, my neighbor drops by my apartment. I whip up some matcha lattes or other tea concoctions, then we set out to soak up the morning sun while admiring the unique architecture of our neighborhood. Sometimes, we team up to order groceries online and even take turns cooking dinner for each other. Tonight, I'm preparing a vegan bolognese, and last weekend, he gave me some peanut noodles. It's like having a friend on speed dial bahaha

took this picture in japan from my aunt's old apartment. i find it hard take random pictures in the US just because i don't think anything is special around me / i don't want to "waste" film. but when i'm in Japan it's so easy to find the beauty in the everyday environment.. even something as simple as people walking upstairs and a guy biking along a path...
