Happily divulging my skincare routine for those who've asked. I'm not a gatekeeper but I am more inclined to share recs on an app that won't cause a ripple in the supply chain. 1. [Vanicream Unscented Gentle Facial Cleanser] $10 Tried and true. Plain and simple. Gets the job done. No further questions your honor. 2. [Paula’s Choice 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant] $35 2x/week (Fall Winter) Sometimes, the internet is correct. Use it at night, wake up with better skin. I don’t make the rules. 3. [Biologique Recherche Lotion P50 OG 1970] $88 2x/week (Spring Summer) I don't have concrete evidence (just the oil on my skin) to back this up, but I believe my skin thickens during the summer. Feels like I need something heftier than the PC. Enter P50. Reminder, I'm not a doctor, nurse, teacher, your mother, an esthetician, a makeup artist, or a babysitter. This is just what works for me. Moving on! 4. [Dieux Skin Instant Angel Moisturizer] $45 I can’t explain how nice this is so I won’t attempt to. (See Justin Bieber, Angels Speak.)

Simple, easy, and cheap skincare

Makeup remover - byoma melting balm cleanser - cerave hydrating cleanser Moisturiser - Nivea creme lazy day - bioderma sensibio H2O I used to be a full skincare girly, and then my skin got really bad and I read a lot about the skincare industry and how insidious and awful it is. Now I essentially just use 4 things. A cleanser, I use cerave hydrating cleanser. And a moisturiser, in my opinion the more simple the better. My favourite is the embryolisse lait creme, but it’s a lil spenny so I mostly use Nivea soft, which I find to be really similar and costs like £2. the third thing is an oil based cleansing balm for makeup removal. atm I use Bioma, which is the affordable replacement for the very expensive Clinique cleansing balm. I also use an spf (but controversially only when it’s sunny as I live in the U.K. and we have a much bigger vitamin d deficiency problem than we do a skin damage one). Unfortunately I’ve never found a face suncream that isn’t expensive, so atm I use laroche possay, but it lasts me ages cause there isn’t much sun here. for ease and laziness I also use bioderma micellar water for days when Im too tired to wash my face or I’m taking off makeup on the go. I have mostly dry/combo and a little sensitive skin, but this routine will work for any skin type (might need a lighter moisturiser if oily). In the U.K. to but this entire routine with full size bottles would cost around £37, and my skin is infinitely better than it was when I was using elaborate and expensive skin care routines!

my current skincare routine

i had a sweet lady ask me what i use on my face because i was “glowing” hehe which i thought was adorable and it’s not even a whole lot. this is just my skincare, not any makeup i put on, which honestly isn’t a long list either. in the mornings: • cerave acne control cleanser • dickinson witch hazel toner • peach slices snail rescue toner • ren vitamin c gel cream • ponds face lotion before bed: • cerave acne control cleanser again • witch hazel toner again • kat burki retin-c treatment complex (sometimes in the mornings too) • ponds face lotion again some of these products i got from ipsy but really do like and will probably purchase again. 🩷

Protocol Skin Care

Listen to me. Your face needs four things. A chemical exfoliator—one. A Vitamin C serum—two. A retinoid—three. And a ceramide moisturizer—four. Do you know who can give you all four? It’s not Snake Oil Skin as much as I wish that were true. I’ve tried all the bougie bitch shit. Augustinus Bader and La Roche-Posey and Barbara Sturm and do you know who comes out on top if I really had to choose? Protocol. This shit works. The complete line with all four products is $262, which might sound like a lot at first, but when you break it down it’s really only $65 a bottle. $65 also happens to be what Snake Oil costs, which is what I use as my last step to slug everything in while I sleep. Proof of results is in my face. I’m turning 32 this year and I’ve never not been carded.
