I've started to pick up random old orange penguin books from second hand bookstore based of the title alone to expand my reading as I tend to stick to well-known classics. It's been great and allowed me to discover books/authors I would have never read otherwise, would def recommend doing it
judging a book by its cover, picking up the ones that call out to you, reading the first paragraph or page or chapter (but not the blurb on the back, no spoilers please), choosing the one that really hooks you in
es cheaper, duh. but sometimes A LOT cheaper than obtaining a brand new copy.
rec-ception: taking book recommendations from people you admire seriously (I just ordered Sexual Personae by Camille Pagile and am dying to read it and possibly share my own thoughts).
Just people sharing snippets of their life, recommending things they genuinely like, talk about things they dislike... it feels authentic compared to other platforms where everything feels like a show
