Lol, using this to plug myself. I started DJing 4 years ago and it’s a practice I love. I live in western Mass, so there’s not a whole lot of DJ action happening here, but I try to keep it rolling.

Being a DJ is one of the coolest things you can do in 2022. I’d like to live in a world where everyone DJs during lunch break, after work, before bed. The anime series “D4DJ: First Mix” is an idyllic example of such a place. When you meet someone new and you’re talking about music and you say “this one hits when I spin it at the club” or “I have a really cool remix of that on my USB”, your hotness increases so much. My first DJ set was in high school at Utopia Studios in St. Louis, Missouri and I played so much festival dubstep to a crowd of unknowing prep school kids. Since then it’s been much more of the same.

if you have a controller, grab a bunch of tunes and practice blending and exploring different styles if you want to play live - tonight I practiced for an open decks night at a club in my city
I enjoy the limitless creativity - no one is stopping you from blending Megan thee stallion with drum and bass, I know because I tried

lately I have been talking and talking and talking into my voice memos app, thinking about getting some empty tapes and a tape recorder and transferring my form of journaling into this form. my mind moves so fast, it is nice to clear my thoughts in that way :-)

I started a radio show on a community radio station back in August. I have wanted to have a radio show for sooooo long. I am so happy I finally am doing it. The past few months I have had guests every week who are electronic musicians/DJs from western mass (where it is located) but also from all over. I am always looking for more people to come on the show🤓I love djing also it is so magical to me. I have learned so much and have gained confidence in myself.
