I think it’s becoming more common of a hobby with the advent of Neocities but still obscured by the shadow of social apps. Unlike apps, the only limit to expressing yourself is your own imagination 🥹

People have made free-to-use templates with instructions for how to modify them. Coding your own website is so fun, you can make pages about literally anything you want and make it look however you want! For example, I have a page about my favorite musician with biography, news, album review, and video library sections. Like I said, literally anything you want! :D
