SUDS (sydney uni drama society) puts on some very good and very bad shows
UNSW always has some really great art shows on the fine arts campus in paddington
macquarie uni has a great museum (big stuffed bear, dinosaur footprints, etc) (this information is actually very dated now that i think about it but i’m sure it’s still wicked). they also used to do free camel rides @ their open day…….
omafiets is a great bike shop in alexandria
south dowling sandwiches in paddington has The Best Sandwiches. 16ishAUD for a truly scrumptious sandwich as big as ur head. i recommend the hugo……. it has caramelised carrots!!!!
indian home diner, also paddington, is soooo yummy & makes curry wraps that r to die for. also has a great student deal
lake parramatta is a beautiful beautiful spot 2 swim - nice fresh water, never toooo busy
& on the central coast, an hour’s beautiful train ride north:
excellent thrifting (woy woy specifically, & also fairhaven op shopping village in point clare)
the gosford hieroglyphs - there r proper conspiracies about this. they’re tucked away in a gully in the middle of the bush. super easy walk to get to them, but not easy to find
pelican feedings in woy woy & the entrance
the australian reptile park - a zoo but almost exclusively for native animals (the 1 exception i can think of is their komodo dragons). they helped develop anti-venoms for all of australia’s most venomous creatures, & u can watch them harvest snake & spider venom. also not just reptiles!!!!! many bugs & spiders & mammals & birds!!!

big-ass spiders. and that makes me question their sanity. and they have kangaroos there with abs who go toe to toe with humans and will snatch ur dog tf up. other than that, people say it’s cool and they have a good creative scene in sydney

romanticise ur blunders & ur missteps, bc that is just part of being a creature. if u saw a duckling fall flat on its face and scramble 2 its feet u wouldn't judge the freakin duckling, u would think it was the cutest thing ever. because it is. we r just organisms in big ungainly bodies, and that is part of our charm. tripping over ur own feet is maybe the most adorable thing u can do. like awwhh u tripped on the pavement </333
this extends 2 social interactions 2. messaging exes that u miss them, making a joke that doesn't land, mishearing/not knowing/forgetting something, etc??!!?! SO SWEET. genuinely such wonderful & important & adorable things 2 do.
i think this is maybe the best thing i've ever managed 2 train my brain 2 do. it isn't foolproof but it makes life a lot gentler.

just about everything that happens to you will be interesting to your future self/your descendants/archaeologists. immortalise your to do lists, shopping lists, packing lists, things that loved ones say, things that strangers say, the phrases you hear that would make a good band name. brainstorm what to do on the weekend, list your cravings, the songs stuck in your head, transcribe birdsong, etc. i track my periods & my finances in my journal. sometimes if i really want to take a photo of something i'll restrain myself and draw it in my journal instead. sometimes i take notes for uni in there, or draft sewing patterns, or sketch when im bored. journals are self-portraits!!!!!!!
