and i like my name! it's normal but unique, classic and fashionable. it's very easy to make MANY nicknames with it (georgi is the one i prefer, but i know 2 other georginas with different nicknames, and people sometimes give me other nicknames: gina, gigi, geo, toti, chorchi, just to name a few). i have a second name and a last name that are also italian (we're Argentinian), and my whole name is pretty cool and unique. tbh, one of the best things my parents have done for me.

like many Latine ppl, my full name consists of a myriad of last names from literally every blood-related family member that has ever graced this planet. although they're beautiful-sounding and i adore them all, they are quite frankly too long to use for username purposes. on top of that, it just doesn't feel right to butcher/frankenstein parts of them just to create a condensed username (perhaps i’ll change my mind on that aspect someday, but for now, i’m pretty steadfast about it). alas, verygoodvalentina was born... it uses my first name, it's easy to remember, feels like a pseudo-alliteration with the two Vs sandwiching the "good" together and can be said like a sentence, "very good, Valentina!" or as an entity, verygoodvalentina™️ (VGV)

I hated my name as a kid, because it was so "weird" to everyone. I hated it because the combination of having a unique name on top of looking different was hell to painfully shy me. Tatiana is a Russian name. Haven't gotten my dna tested but as far as I know I'm not Russian. I've gotten a myriad of nicknames throughout my life (I do not count thotiana, that year was awful) including Tots, Tat, and T, but my favorite has always been Tati. Everyone has always told me it's a beautiful name. After years of hearing that, I am much more okay with people using it, and sometimes prefer it over impersonal pronouns. I still can't seem to get over the fact that my dad named me, and the fact that this name was his ex's name.. and for that I keep considering asking everyone to call me by my middle name.

not many people my age are named it which is why i used to hate it as a kid, but i've grown to love it. precisely because it's not "fitting" for my age practically everyone in my life calls me nicknames, which are fun and silly, but are also NOT my name, so it can get tiring sometimes lol. i honestly adore it now and when someone close to me (so professors/academic figures/etc. don't count) uses it i kind of percieve it as a sign of respect, even an act of love. it's intimate, really. i'd love it if people used it more :').
