when I'm feeling career or scene fatigued, i like to leave the city + log off as much as possible and for as long as possible. i usually end up returning to NYC with a reignited passion for being here and a new outlook on my work, etc. cliche, but it does work

Iā€™ve been here for so long the longest Iā€™ve ever lived anywhere and occasionally i feel like maybe itā€™s time to move on and then I go literally anywhere else in the country and Iā€™m so relieved to be back home!!!

I lived in Massachusetts for 28 years until 1 year ago today when I moved to NYC. I was feeling stagnant and afraid that Iā€™d be there forever if I didnā€™t make a change. I am happy to say it was one of the best decisions Iā€˜ve made. I donā€™t know if Iā€™ll be here forever but Iā€˜ve learned more about myself in 1 year than the last 5 and thatā€™s something Iā€™ll always be thankful for. Iā€™ve made new friends, reconnected with old, gotten a new job, moved apartments, and had an enumerable unforgettable memories. If you are feeling stuck where you have always been, I recommend making a change because it will be both one of the more challenging and rewarding decisions you make. p/c riotgrrrl

sometimes you have to ground yourself. Get out of that superficial city you lie to yourself as you refer to it as ā€home.ā€ Leave the instagram likes and 4am parties behind and go see your family. They miss you. Go repair that relationship with your father/mother, visit your old high school - drink a beer and stargaze with your childhood friends as you reminisce on how good you had it back then. Plot. Make your plots. Come back to said wretched city ready to capitolize. Or donā€™t. Move to a different city - or never leave home. Donā€™t be afraid of comfort, donā€™t get too used to it either.

tomorrow PI.FYI launches to the public this project is the result of thousands of hours spent coding everything from scratch after I got laid off six months ago no thiel-bucks or weirdo outsider money, just a pure desire to make something fun and true to Perfectly Imperfectā€™s day one goal of helping people find new things from real human beings, not algorithms or AI a pure labor of love that Iā€™ve been quietly plotting for two years and itā€™s completely self-funded from my (rapidly) dwindling savings account so thank you for coming along for this weird ride šŸ«¶ let's see where it goes
