Crazy cool platformer/puzzle/FPS hybrid with an incredible soundtrack from Machine Girl that’s slightly horny and a little campy. I just started another playthrough and it’s just as good as the first time.

Currently replaying this after beating it in a week over lockdown, forgot just how good it was. A 3d metroidvania horror game in a brutalist setting, video games literally do not get cooler than this!

Puzzle platformer from 2016 that’s so pretty and cinematic. Sound design is great, cool camera/scale effects throughout the game. It’s kind of a wild story with fun mechanics along the way and the ending is insanely fun. Teaser is linked

fatal frame iii

From a “hobbyist” perspective, the natural conclusion of OSSC upscaling fetishism and a PS2 with a hard drive is getting to play this gorgeously freaky little game on original hardware without buying a price gouged £200+ disc copy. From a personal perspective, I think I’ve tripped and stumbled into prototyping a video game? Music isn’t speaking to me the way that it used to and I guess I’m looking for a more gag driven way to get my point across. Survival horror is such malleable language. So I’m deluding myself into considering this research. Playing it in tandem with Silent Hill 4 to get a nice spread of dream-logic nightmare realms that clash with domestic horror. I do so wish P.T. was still accessible. If anybody has any other suggestions or favourites in this category I’d love to hear them! Deliciously creepy stuff.
