This time of year you really can’t go wrong with hanging out at any of the beaches or spending time in Lincoln Park. Get as much sunshine as possible! Hard to give just a few food recs but my faves now probably are Rose Mary, Mama Delia, and Armitage Ale House. For something quicker get tacos at La Pasadita or a hot dog or a burger at Red Hot Ranch. A lot of good thrifting/antiques on Grand Avenue in West Town if you’re into that, and then some awesome bookstores too are Myopic Books in Wicker Park and Open Books in Logan Square. The Robey Hotel is also an amazing place to grab drinks, now that it’s summer their pool bar will be open too! If that’s not your speed and you just want a good ol dive bar and cheap cans of beer, Rainbo Club is right down the road from there! Enjoy!

I live in Chicago! Depending on where you're staying, there's a bunch of cool things to do as Chicago is a city of neighborhoods. Wicker Park and Logan Square are popular neighborhoods to check out and they're on the cheaper end. California Clipper, Rainbo Club, and Common Decency are bars that are worth checking out. I know that Common Decency has a happy hour 4-6pm 7 days a week. If you're into movies, check out the Music Box Theatre! It's a 95 year old arthouse movie theatre in the Southport Corridor/Lakeview neighborhood that shows independent and second run films. Speaking of Lakeview, Clark Street is pretty popular if you're going to check out Wrigley Field! There are bars up and down the block so you won't need to walk far to find a place to drink at for cheap. If you need any more ideas or recommendations, let me know!

I don’t believe in ranking things- restaurants, albums, books, movies, athletes anything, top x lists whatever. I think it’s a waste of time honestly. Even with a completely objective criterion what’s the point. Would rather listen to and read people just talk about their favorite things and why they are special and meaningful to them- everyone has their own, interesting reasons. And this is a great place to do that!
