I had been procrastinating on a straightforward but boring work task for weeks. Somehow the recipe to actually doing the thing quickly was a couple hits and Sugar Ray at 10:30am on a Saturday morning. I’ll take it, universe!
It’s so easy to allow the depression & short attention span to take over, but there’s nothing quite like the feeling of pushing back a little & getting something tangible done. The time will pass regardless.
Rec’ing this with two caveats: that it’s not super long-term and that you feel some personal purpose in what you’re doing.
It’s an intense and potentially overwhelming state but there’s also some exhilaration in having your work be so obvious that you just have to do it – no time to dilly-dally!
