ok this is for my boyfriend and we were never friends technically since we met and started dating immediately but i was unsure of him in the beginning / thought he was cute and fun but no crush just yetā¦
but then he came to pick me up at the station near his house on what i guess was our 3rd date and he was walking down with his headphones on and his curly hair was bouncing up and down and he looked like he was on such a mission, with a very cute serious look on his face. Iām not sure why that was the moment but I felt like a sort of āpang!ā feeling and after that I was pretty much in love :)

a couple weeks ago, i bumped into a friend that i say hi to every now and then, but donāt know much about. iāve always thought heās cute. we were both walking to the library to study, so we were talking and getting to know each other. i mentioned that i want to live back at home after i graduate uni because i would miss my dog (and parents) too much. then i showed him my lock screen of my dog. this song was playing (important!) and he stared at the screen for awhile and i thought that was strange because it wasnāt hard to see the pic of my dog. my delulu self thought he was trying to read the song name to listen to it later.
we ended up spending the rest of the day together, studying, trying to get to know each other while flirting, and then got taco bell for dinner (literally a date yk). he also paid for my drink at our campus cafeš„¹
2 weeks ago, we were studying together again and i asked if he had spotify. he said yes, and i said that we should make a shared playlist that blends our music (i listen to it every day). the other day this song showed up and on the side it had both of our profilesā¦ basically we both had listened to it, and itās SO CUTE because he is so observant and makes an effort to get to know me. and no i donāt think he alr knew who caroline polachek is based on what he listen to. anyway i really really like him and this might be the start of a love story pls wish me luckš¤š»

I should preface this with saying that when I first met him I thought he was hot, but I was dating his roommate so it was off the table. And I did not really think of him in any way other than a friend for a long time
Until one day we were sitting in a circle with friends, he was across from me, wearing a white button down tucked into some jeans, chatting with our friend, and I found myself thinking I needed to go be on his lap.
Then sort of freaked out internally, and thus began months of moments like this coming up and me squashing them down until eventually I couldnāt ignore the fact that I liked him and now we are married.

I love basing my friendships around things I like to do, and having an allocated person to do that with, also having a process / routine that this thing happens around. Like a tiny religious procession of two.
E.g. : one friend is my coffee and a walk friend, another is a person I only exclusively hang out with to eat tacos once a month, a third friend to only go to cinema screenings with, another friend will join me for exercise classes and we usually get dinner afterwards.
I like this approach to friendship in general because itās less pressure to have to come up with new things to do, and if you stagger time well then you always have things to do and people to see.
