I just love my little half frame camera, I think this thing really punches above its weight when you look at input (buying the camera, paying for film, using the camera) vs output (the fun photos that come out). I would say it’s one step up from a disposable in terms of its complexity and quality, and being half frame you can get up to 72 photos from a single roll of 35 mm film which is great for me because I’m cheap af lol and I love the accidental photo pairings that come out of it because two frames will be printed onto one little slice of film (like the image below). There’s no pressure to be a ~photographer~ because it’s a £30 piece of plastic you’re just having fun and snapping fun photos. I love my little toy film camera 📸🎞️👯‍♀️

i love disposable cameras and film cameras but i find them hard to use. so i opted for a paper shoot camera ❤️ 1. i can get that film effect without having to develop film 2. it’s more environmentally friendly, since you’re not disposing cameras and films. there’s an sd card so i just need to plug it in my laptop 3. lessens my phone addiction lol 4. cute, customisable cases and very handy to bring everywhere because it’s so small and compact 5. shoots video and timelapse

If you want an easy introduction to the world of film photography, I recommend you start off with a point and shoot film camera and then upgrade to a more traditional film camera that has more functions and manual flexibility with things like shutter speed and aperture. The Pentax Espio 738 is a great workhorse of a film camera that's easy-to-hold, has a lot of automatic functions and applies the appropriate settings to shoot pics without you having to worry much about over or underexposing your photos. It's great for street photography and has a fucking powerful flash (like blindingly bright, but super good for illuminating dark, low-light scenes). Another important feature is the camera's automatic advancing and rewinding capabilities. Most SLR (single lens reflex) cameras require you to advance and rewind your film manually, which isn't super hard to do, but if you're just starting out/anxious about messing up your roll of film on your first couple of attempts, it's nice to have a camera that already does that for you. The final reason I like recommending this camera is the price point. I got mine a few years ago from a dude on fb marketplace who was selling it for $50 but I managed bargain it down to $25. With that in mind, I've seen this camera being sold anywhere between $50 to $150 online and considering how expensive film cameras are currently, this model is on the cheaper end of things. Really good if you wanna try things out before investing in a more expensive film camera. Hope this helps!

I love basing my friendships around things I like to do, and having an allocated person to do that with, also having a process / routine that this thing happens around. Like a tiny religious procession of two. E.g. : one friend is my coffee and a walk friend, another is a person I only exclusively hang out with to eat tacos once a month, a third friend to only go to cinema screenings with, another friend will join me for exercise classes and we usually get dinner afterwards. I like this approach to friendship in general because it’s less pressure to have to come up with new things to do, and if you stagger time well then you always have things to do and people to see.
