pay what you wish admission to the museum, and then you can visit the brooklyn botanic garden next door for a small ticket price if you want (cheaper if you can pull off an old student ID). there is always an ice cream truck parked nearby, or a walk through crown heights will promise many cafes and coffee shops. you can also go to prospect park for free instead! many bars along washington ave or franklin ave. have fun

it's spring. there are some good parks in brooklyn. walk over, get some fresh air, find some cafe, get a bite on your way back, or maybe pick up like one ingredient to make dinner with, something like that.
if you wander by some bowling alley or arcade or karaoke club, pop in. Personally, my goal there would be to have a fun time with strangers, but you could just do your own thing.
if you're in manhattan, go up to the bar on the roof of some hotel, don't even bother getting a drink, just appreciate their view. or get a drink, they're expensive but often tasty.
wander. the city is dense and walkable.

there is nothing better than a solo date to see a band you love. no shouting over the crowd to your date, freedom to dance as crazy as you want, peak people-watching. get as drunk as you want, who cares. talk to a stranger or don’t. tip the bartender and merch person, befriend the bouncer. you are the main character when you are on an adventure with yourself. who knows you better than you…? music is so euphoric and transformative, i will always cherish my solo concerts

how has no one said this one yet? chappell is winning music right now and this tiny desk certainly was part of that. between the stripped down live arrangements, matching pink band outfits, comedic personality in between songs, the wig (insane), and her VOICE….truly this performance is beyond i could watch it a million times
