1. company lot by noel miller (kinda like doomscrolling through the tech world but in a funny way. would not play around your parents or coworkers lol) 2. tiny meat gang (used to be with two cohosts, but one is a creep so he's off and it's noel miller hosting interviews, news guy bits, etc. pretty versatile ever since cody ko left. the older episodes with cody are funny too, but i personally don't want to watch them anymore. also would not play around your parents or coworkers) 3. beersos (two hs best friends talk about unhinged shit every episode. also also would not play around anyone tbh) 4. welcome to nightvale (it's a radio show for a fictional town called nightvale. has some fire lines. is overall kooky and odd. often eerie) anyway, here's a screengrab from the first few seconds of the first episode of company lot

1.) The Magnus Archives - horror mystery drama, different types of horror and “fears”, super good and completed with 200 episodes. It has a lot of bonus content and a sequel, The Magnus Protocol, but I haven’t listened to that one yet. 2.) Stellar Firma - by the same people who made The Magnus Archives, ridiculous sci-fi comedy with deeper stuff under the surface 3.) The Hidden Almanac - supernatural comedy, a radio broadcast in a fantasy world, extremely silly, completed with 893 episodes, but each is like 5 minutes long 4.) Welcome to Nigh Vale - a radio broadcast from a very strange town with very strange residents, silly, spooky and heartfelt, ongoing 5.) Old Gods of Appalachia - wild west eldritch horror, very good atmosphere and voice acting, ongoing 6.) The Lost Cat - horror mystery, a man looks for his missing cat in a very bizarre world, with monsters and reality altering shenanigans, completed at 49 episodes

I’d really recommend listening to this one. It’s hilarious. It’s pretty much just two guys reading and reacting to internet horror stories. I don’t know how you feel about horror, but the hosts, Meatcanyon and Wendigoon, bring a lot of levity to some of the darker stories they read. I’d really recommend it

deep dives on schemes, scams, or corporate / political scandals are very interesting and generally not insensitive about violence in the way the “true crime” genre can be, i don’t really like the “true crime” genre bc of that so here are some outside that main realm, either rec’d to me (irl) or that i have listened to that are really interesting: - the dropout: follows the rise and fall of everyone’s favorite girlboss and founder of theranos, elizabeth holmes and how she got a bunch of funding to start a healthcare company based on fake science! and also how she got found out. (if you enjoy it, there’s also bad blood: the final chapter) - hooked: tells the story of a famous bank robber and also the US opioid epidemic (together) - queen of the con: really wild, this woman literally conned a bunch of professional athletes out of their money just by lying all the time - you’re wrong about: they have episodes on all topics (like urban legends, movies, politics etc) but some are on famous ”crime” stories and debunking common myths, like flight 571, tonya harding, etc. imo it is not sensationalized the way some of the “murder podcasts” are but possibly bc it’s not a true crime podcast - mother country radicals: set mostly in the 1970s, it talks about this guy’s experience growing up with the Weather Underground, and their many militant radical actions (like, they literally bomb the government, rob banks to fund their organizing, prison breaks etc) - the dream (season one): basically talks about a ton of MLMs with crazy examples and some of the more well-known ones!

i am good. i am good. i whisper it on the way home through the snow. i mumble it on the edge of the bed, pupils heavy in my hands. in another world, you love me and i am good. i am good. come back to me. mother who remembers you. i hold you when you sleep, mould my arms around you, leave no room for the cold. your skin is like wax paper. there are tears at the edges of your eyes. i am good. i am good. mother who loves you. you are good to me. i hold my eyes in my hands, and run them over the edges of your face. even without me, they recognize your temples. you are good to me. you come to me in the dark. gentle as ever, speak no words. there are tears in your eyes and bleeding in your hands and i love you, i love you, i love. come back to me. in my dream, you don't answer. you don't tell me what you've done.
