this was basically a hangout simulator where you got to pretend to be a socialite that has a studio apartment in LA, except it was putatively for children bc it was on nicktoons.com. i remember being so young that i had to have someone explain to me that the people going around randomly saying โbeachโ really meant something else. it was a valuable lesson for the future

They really laced this game with crack because I remember playing it many many times, but have only the vaguest idea of what it was about. I think it was just finding items to give to different CN characters to get them to come to a party? Maybe someone else here remembers and had the same addiction

kinda basic but truly what a fun game. I dabbled in a lot of those multiplayer websites when I was wayyy too young (parents didnโt care abt internet restriction; Iโm the youngest child in my fam) but this was just the best. My brother and I used to wait until midnight on holidays to see what the drops would look like. Learned vaguely about sex and bullying and surfing, as much as the website allowed at least. My friend the other day sent me a meme that had a pic of the lighthouse and I felt genuine nostalgia. When it shut down, I dabbled in the legacy โmodโ and have been thinking about getting back into it ๐ค a trip down memory lane!

spent the last two weeks working on an interactive guide, recommendations database, and digital library (link depot) to help get people off of social media. the first draft is done now, and it's at the link to this post.
it's still very much a work in progress (the library is especially thin atm) - which is why i wanted to share it here before unleashing it upon my IRL friends and the general public. i welcome any and all feedback, bug reports, and suggestions for things to add. i will be pushing updates to it out like a madman in the coming weeks, so be sure to check back every so often to see new additions to the database and library.
additionally, i am still on the hunt for newsletters from local venues / community organizations / magazines / newspapers, etc. the only cities i have remotely covered so far are nyc, orlando, denver, brisbane, and little bits of worcester and chicago. if you know anything in your area that fits the bill, send it my way!
